Are lower back tattoos really that bad?

The lower back seems to be the logical place for me to get a tattoo because
A) I don’t want it to show in everyday clothes or formal dresses (husband is military and I attend a couple of formal functions each year)
and
B) It won’t be affected by weight gain/pregnancy.
I don’t wear anything that would expose my lower back, so my husband would be the only one to see it. Would it really be that bad for me to get a so called tramp stamp?
p.s. I’m not getting something cliche like a butterfly, flower, or fairy. It’s something that has meaning to me.

If no one else will see it then no one will be able to judge you. Who cares what other people think. There is also people that will judge you just cuz you got a tattoo. Just do it!

The choice of where to get a tattoo should be your own, and not pending what other people think. The fact that you’re asking this question may be the first indication that you’re exactly the type of person that shouldn’t get a tattoo, in all honesty.

I personally really like back tattoos! If I were to get another one (I have a little flower on my foot) I would get a back one. My best friend just got a peace sign with a little heart in it on her lower left side of her back! I think that it is really cute. People do say that it is a tramp stamp, but really people, I think that other stuff besides a tattoo on a lower back decide if a person is a tramp!!!

Well, that does sound like a logical place for you. And if it is something that has meaning to you than I guess I really wouldn’t call it a tramp stamp or **** tag.

sounds like the perfect place to get one since it meets all of the important requirements you are looking for, like being able to cover it. Plus, if thats where you want it then thats where you should get it

Tattoos are something that you need to put much thought into it before you go ahead and do it. Don’t be too sure that the tattoo won’t be affected by weight gain even if it is on the lower back. My daughters tattoo on her lower back looked much nicer before she gained weight.
Good luck with your choice.

i got a tramp stamp pre pregnancy (third pregnancy that is) and it changed very little, it is a perfect place to get it.
who cares what people call it..

People love cliches and labels.
They have a need to feed the
gossip machine. Pay no heed
to those who would try to dissuade
you from doing something that has
meaning for you. It’s your body.
I think you have made up your mind.

dont let other peoples judgement/opinion cloud your own… its your body and you should be able to do whatever to it. I really think the term tramp stamp is getting R-E-A-L-L-Y O-L-D! lol. sorry but it really seems like it.. you shouldnt be judged because you have a tattoo on your lower back or anywhere on your body. SO I say go for it! Good Luck!

it’s the only place i have one so far, and it’s a great spot, but it hurt really bad when i was getting it. the tattoo artist told me that after he started on it….but i would do it again. afterwards it feels so good! and it doesn’t even hurt anymore.

The tramp stamp name is just an ugly word used for lower back tats, it doesn’t matter what you get tattood and where as long as you are happy with it.
good luck

If that’s what you wanna do than go for it. But like you said, it has meaning. so i doubt it’d be considered that. Good luck.

Have you considered a bathing suit? It seems like you had your body covered all the time, but you didn’t mention swimming.
Like it or not, if someone knows you have a lower back tatoo, they’ll call it what everyone else calls it. Remember, a tatoo is for life, so be prepared to be dealing with it forever.
My husband was in the military and got a tattoo on his back. He’s regretted it for about the last 12 years (we’ve been married 15). I’ve never liked it, but that didn’t bother him, until he had to start explaining to our kids why they could not get a tattoo until they were old enough to move out.
You may want to think it over a little more, and what does your husband think of the idea? You might want to run it by him first. Whether everyone else here agrees, or not, something like this should be a decision you make WITH your spouse, or end up having a fight about it later (or not, depends on how your spouse feels about these things.)
Hope this helped.

Who cares what anyone else says???? If you want it, get it! I like my cliche-cuz I got it before it was the cliche…and I’m still not a tramp.

Its only a tramp stamp if its purely decorative, and you only get it for looks. at least thats what I think. so, no.

I got a tat on my lower back 6 yrs ago and still love it as much as the day I got it. I made sure it wasn’t just a fad design that I would regret. It didn’t change at all after having my daughter, and it only shows if I decide to wear a shorter top. I plan to get another one on back of my shoulder for my daughter, then I’m done.

i wanna have one too and my lovey dovey agrees on that so go for it!

Thats where i have a tattoo, i have never had anyone notice it, or comment on it unless i have shown them. I have no regrets at all. It is only a tramp stamp if you get around with it hanging out along with your **** *****! But it is a great place for things like formals etc as it will not be seen. It wont be affected by weight gain/ stretch marks or pregnancy either. good safe area.
