that is what a lot of people call them these days but that shouldn’t stop you from getting it there. if its what you want then do it. don’t worry about what other people say.

  2. Amy Says:

Yeah lower back tattoos are gotten a rep of being tramp stamps. And with your butterfly design it would look like a tramp stamp.

  3. kayla Says:

Haha the butterfly on the lower back is the signature tramp stamp. And yes, they are extremely trashy. Why not just decide against a tattoo if you’re going to pick such an unoriginal tacky one?

  4. Jaded_grl Says:

Tramp stamp all the way. Its for them to give them something to look at aim for when hitting it from behind! If its not a total piece that’s taking up a all the lower back then yeah! ITS a TRAMP STAMP, and totally suggesting your easy. Sorry just the way it is with all sorts of stupid girls getting tattooed just there and no where else!

  5. Jess Says:

Yes! It’s so freaking trashy! I have a few tattoos myself. I would never get one on my lower back unless it’s part of a big piece. Honestly, tramp stamps can’t be considered a tattoo in my book. Also I understand that you designed this yourself but a butterfly? There are so many girls out there that have a butterfly tattooed on them. Go with something unique and original. If it doesn’t have any meaning to you then DON’T GET IT!!!!

    but yours sounds really good.
if you feel that it is part of you and you cant live without it get it but if not i would think about it abit more and mabey edit the desighn until you feel that is is connected to you

It is considered trashy, Tramp Stamp Whatever. But, if that’s what you like. I think you should get it. Personally, I think it’s cute.

  9. GISÈLE _please Says:

i guess it is considered a tramp stamp :/
you could always get one on the side of your hip :)

  10. Ray Says:

try seeing how it would like on your upper back like from shoulder blad to shoulder blade, sooo many girls get butterflies on there lower back even if you designed it people will still consider it a regular trap stamp

i have a tribal butterfly on the bottom of my back it is about 4 inches in length, but i have the first letter of my husbands name in the middle of the butterfly. i think that it got its name tramp stamp from those women who get the tat solely for the purpose of bending over so a guy will get hard looking at the tat. my husband is the only one who sees my tat… unless my shirts accidentally ride up. i don’t think its trashy until you make it trashy. it doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks about Your tattoo…. just you..its something you are going to have to live with for the rest of your life, not everyone else. so you should do whatever makes you happy and comfortable. i think the idea is great, if that is who you are. tattoos are a form of self expression and are not meant to be put on the body because you are worried what everyone else thinks about you. If everyone was worried about what others thought of tattoos in the first place, no one would have them, because so many people look down on them as a form of disc race and defacing the body. but like i said before, YOUR tattoo is not about other people, its about you..so do what you feel is right.

i think tramp stamps are great and that is a great design:) go for it

The idea of a tramp stamp is trashy. they are designed so that a girl can get a guy to stare at her behind. And because of that, many girls have started to get them for that reason. Unfortunately, this stigma is not likely to go away soon. So as for weather or not you should get it– it’s up to you. Keep in mind that many people might see it and think you’re trashy because you have it. While others can enjoy it for it’s artistic beauty.

But just to play devil’s advocate– there are plenty of people who think tattoos in general are trashy. So when those people see someone with a tattoo, they think they are trashy by default. As someone who loves tattoos, I choose to not associate with people like that– But that’s my choice.

So basically– some people think it’s trashy, some dont– if you want one– get it; but just remember that some people may not like it– weather that’s because you have a tattoo, or because if where you choose to put it. But it’s your body, get what you like.

  14. Don't Blame me Says:

Well I think they are okay but, a lot of girls are judged if they have lower back tattoos, almost as if saying hey look down here also, many doctors refuse to give epidurals to pregnant women who have lower back tattoos because the ink can get into the spinal cord.

some people think so, but if you want it and want it in that spot who cares?

ive heard two nicknames for lower back tattoos

    tramp stamps

    and

    c*m targets

    sooo, yeah

  17. Sunshine Says:

Ok. I do have a lower back tattoo. I got it about 4 years ago. And I had never heard about a tramp stamp until I came into the Air Force. I have never got made fun of nor has anyone ever called me trashy. I never showed it before unless I was swimming. I never wore short tops or anything. Since then I have gotten engaged then pregnant and then married. They did give me an epideral even though I have a lower back tattoo. I no longer wear 2 piece bathing suits cuz of weight gain and stretch marks. But my husband doens’t say anything derogitory about my tattoo. He never has. He and my daughter are the only ones who see it. Unless I show people. So I would just get what you want. Good luck

I really don’t think of it as a tramp stamp. My first ever tattoo i got i put on my lower back..it is my daughters name. earlier this year i added to it…i put a crown over her name (since she is my princess) and I added chinese cherry blossoms and the chinese symbols for ‘love’ and ‘destiny’ since that is her name. I like to get tattoos that can be seen and every tattoo i have is unique to me and has a special meaning. My back tattoo is visible perfectly and I like it that way. I’m proud of my daughter and proud of my tattoo. People will think what they want and call it what they want but the tattoo is your choice so what people think should never matter.
