Is it true that women who have lower back tattoos have a harder time giving birth?

I’ve heard that somewhere…i’m not sure where exactly (maybe in class or on some show) but i was wondering if it was true. Something about not being able to given them pain relief…

I’ve heard that you can’t have an epidural if you have a tramp stamp.

One has absolutely nothing to do with the other.

Tattoos have nothing to do with it.
What you can’t get pain relief for is back LABOR.
Where the baby is facing a different way and the back of it’s head is hitting your spine as it’s coming out.

Usually a lower-back tattoo won’t have any impact on whether you can get an epidural. If the tattoo is very large, or recent, there may be some difficulty, but otherwise it shouldn’t be an issue for you. If you’re unsure, just ask your doctor. ^_^

no
why would a tattoo have ANYTHING to do with giving birth? There are many different areas in the spine that they can stick the needle and if you have a tat there they will poke through it.
