What do you think of lower back tattoos? Are they tramp stamps?

Just wondering what people think.
I have been planning on getting a tattoo on my lower back for some time now. Everyone I tell this to wants me to change it saying its nothing but a tramp stamp.

I still want to get it, but dont want people to think of me like that.
What do you think about this?
The tattoo would be of an ankh.

i think they are very sexy

  2. cera_chaos Says:

i think it matters what it is, how big and if you have any other tats too. but mostly, its a tramp stamp

  3. xthescenebandgeekx Says:

depends on what the tat is!

You will be sore..i’m still sore.. i just now started peeling.. and right over the spine will hurt.. i’m not sure what your pain tolerance is.. but i cried(rose is right over my spine)

    one word. yes

  7. fanci Says:

If that is where you want your tattoo, then that is where you should have it. People who won’t or can’t have a tattoo there because it would look awful on their fat hairy backs are the ones who call it that.

  8. justmeandu Says:

i think the people who are telling you that lower back tats are tramp stamps are tramps themselves. i have one and am nowhere near a tramp. it is nice in that particular area if you wear the hipster type pants, bathing suits, or if you want to get **** for your boo. get it girl and tell those people who have something negative to say to you about it that if it where a tramp stamp, wouldn’t any tat placed anywhere on your body make you a tramp?

  9. Jenny J Says:

Yes they are. They are as bad as seeing a girl bending over to show her whale tail of a thong. So not classy.

  10. Rachel Says:

I think it depends on how you present yourself.

I personally think lower back tatoos as ****. SOME OF THEM anyways. Some can really look trampy while others are just beautiful. It just all depends on what you get. :)

I myself do not have one (nor a tattoo) My mom and dad would probably freak even though dad has one. I’d like to get a small one someday somewhere, where it won’t matter after I have kids.

  11. Mosype Says:

I think that tattoos on a girls lower back looks trashy.

  12. BabyFaced Says:

no, i think thats a good spot for a tattoo

  13. hellz v Says:

thats the beauty of it. you get to laugh at the ignorant idiots that call you a ***** for having it.
me my friend are getting the same tattoo in different colors [i drew it] on her 18th b-day if im still living here. were gonna proudly call them our tramp stamps. i could care less if ppl think its trashy.
plus, its an easy place to hide or show off.

  14. Flipp Says:

I love seeing people with original tattoos. They are very creative. Having one on your lower back is unoriginal! Everyone has one. That’s why it got the nickname it has! Be creative and a little wild, not like every other ***** following a trend!

  15. B+B Says:

Myself, I love tats. I love color in tats. Alot of people express their feelings in their tats. I believe its what you think that really counts tho. I guess I,m bias, my ole mans a tattooist. Tho, I like lower back peices and I like your choice of tattoos. Sounds like you thought on it. Good luck!

  16. gutten morgan Says:

it is unfortunate that they call it that. ther are many peopel out ther ewho have lower back tattoos and are not tramps one bit! i think it is a GREAT location for a tattoo! easy to gied or to show.. also! if you were to hav children that area would hardly be essfected.. actually most liekely not at all.. and when it comes to aging.. gravity wont take it toll on the tat and ruin it compare to lets say the arms, breast, stomach, or legs!.. who cares if peopel think of you like that! honestly! you know youself the best and YOU know you are NOT a tramp.. so anyone who thinks that is just another ignorant idiot on the street who judges peopel to quickly! and having a tattoo on the lower back itsn un original well isnt also unoriginal also on the foot? the wrist? your hip? you shoulder blade?! having a tattoo there is not unoriginal and has benefits as stated above! i myself am going to get one on my left shoulder blade.. for my first tat =)

good luck! and dont let stupid idoitic ignorant judgemental peopel think of you any waydifferently!

I say GO FOR IT. I myself had my large tattoo put across the top of my breast’s. It won’t be affected with time or gravity. there is so much color and detail, yes it was very painful but I would do it again. I would love to have a back tattoo myself.

Why should you care what other people think? It’s your body. I actually liked the fact that when I got mine done, I made a firetruck of men swerve in traffic from looking. It’s all cool, I’m not a tramp, I have 3 children and a long time marriage.
I’m not a tramp or sleezy or anything.
If you don’t care what others think then get the tattoo. If your having that much of a question about it, perhaps you shouldn’t.
I would love one, just can’t afford it right now, and the pain issue is a huge factor too. lol

  18. qtpatutie1233 Says:

if thats where you want your tat…go for it. if you like it who cares what other people think. i have one on my lower back and its HUGE…and i abslutley love it. i dont try to show it off but if someone happens to see it im proud to show it off then. im not a tramp…not even close but i liked a particular tattoo and there was no where else to put it. be proud of your tattoo…theyre awesome. who cares what other people think! Good Luck!! (it will hurt)

  19. eddy m 2 im back i was banned Says:

before i start i want to state im covered head to to in tats full sleves the lot i love my tats so dont think im against them

yes people sadly do see tattooed people in a different light they see me and imediatly think im a thug and i would sooner steal someones wallet than buy them a pint .just because im covered in tattooes . they judge me before they even know me on the inside . they couldent be more wrong im a quiet frendly guy really

also when you say one person went a far as calling people with tattooes tramp stamped that is there oppinion sadly and you cant nock that as they are entitled to their oppinion although this is a shame they think that way as this is quite a shalow judgement

my oppinion is people with tattooes are not i repeat are NOT tramp stamped my tattooes are there for me and me only they all have personal meanings to me and have a strong mental input on myself . thats why i have so many tattooes . NOT TO SHOW OFF!!! if people want to look at me and judge me on my tattooes before they know me then fine i dont need to know them there not worth it and are obviously shallow people

what im saying is people should not judge a book by its cover or treat people different for what they belive in or what they enjoy doing

what im saying is if YOU are happy with your tattoo ideas then i say good for you seriously dont let others get you down with their rash taistless assumptions wear you tattooes with pride !!!

    pece on earth !!!

hope this makes you feel better good look

  20. ♪♪Holly♪♪ Says:

i think you should not listen to everyone else and do what you want to do. i am not a tramp im happily married with a fairly large tattoo on my back. i think the other people are just hatin cause they dont have the balls to go get ink done. you shouldent live your life for what other people think of you.

  21. has no name Says:

    any tat anywhere is cool.

that said, it has become a common phrase that a tat on the extreme lower back is a tramp stamp. If you get one there just keep that in mind.

i say do whatever you want and if someone caused you grief pick up a brick and smash thier face in.

  22. country_girl Says:

I **** that phrase more than I could tell you. There is nothing about the tattoo that makes you a tramp….if the girl is a tramp, then she is, with or without a tattoo………get what you want where you want.

  23. bettierage Says:

Tramp stamp to me, is wordplay that makes me smile. It’s your body, get the tattoo wherever you want it, but own it.

  24. somebody Says:

you know what i want to say to people who say that a lower back tattoo is a tramp stamp? ‘you’re mom’s a tramp stamp.’
that is ridiculous. the thought that right now you are NOT a tramp but the minute you get a lower back tattoo you are MAGICALLY transformed into a tramp.
it’s dumb. get what you want and be proud of it.
i don’t have a lower back tattoo like that (anymore, i got it covered up) but when my back is finished it will be completey tattooed so i still consider myself as having a lower back tattoo and i take offense.
    so there’s my two cents!

  25. alwayshere Says:

i think that if thats where u wanna get it then go for it!!!! who cares what a$$holes think ***** em!!!!

  26. meenie_is_sweet Says:

if you carry yourself like a tramp then it doesn’t matter where you get your ink your a tramp, right? if your a classy person and carry yourself in that manner then who cares. it’s your body. i have a lower back tattoo that covers my entire lower half. i love it !!!guys and girls love (mom hates it) and i could careless who thinks i am a tramp i did it for me. so you do you and good luck
