Why do girls continue to get tattoos on their lower back when it is regarded as a tramp stamp in our society?
Demoncatz N Rethuglicans asked:
not that i got anything against it…but its always been a question of mind on why girls keep getting them even though every1 calls it a tramp stamp including women themselves.

While it is regarded as a Tramp Stamp, most guys(even me,I’ll be honest),when seeing a lower back tattoo, often think about,Man,I’d love to see the rest of that. So,in my mind, the girls either wants to be called a tramp or wants guys to think about having *** with her, just to torture us.Or they think it looks cool

Why do people get tats anyway? Why disfigure your body for fashion considering the fashion may go out of style in a few years? When I was in school, guys wore bell-bottoms, tie-dyed shirts and afros (no matter what their race). See anyone doing that now? How stupid would I look if I still did it? How stupid will tats look in 20 years?

B/c some people don’t care about what other people think. And get their tattoos for themselves [not for other people or to measure up to others' beliefs].

most people who get tattoos period, dont care about what society thinks. people who call it the tramp stamp are so stupid. you cannot predict or know what a girls *** life is just because she has a tattoo on her lower back. the lower back is a convenient placement because the back in general is a big, flat surface. it can be covered up easily…as far as on the beach in a bikini…we know that guys are going to look at our ***** and chest anyways. and that guy who said girls who get a tramp stamp want guys to look….umm. no. sorry to burst your bubble, but probably 99% of girls get it for THEMSELF. not for guys. it would be REALLY stupid to get something perminant on your body just for a guy.
society also tells girls that we should be stick thin…and yes, there are anorexics, but mcdonalds still gets good business. society also tells guys that they should be big and buff, but have you seen some guys today? they wear girl jeans and have thighs skinnier than mine! so just because society says something, doesnt mean we have to listen.

It is none of societies business…if I did everything that society thought was appropriate,…I would be a boring person who was not truly happy. I think the lower back is a perfect place for a tattoo. As with all tattoos, they are personal, and someone’s reasons for getting them are none of your concern. Why does this really bother you?

maybe they want to be tramps?

Well I can’t answer for everybody, but I will answer for myself:
I chose that placement for a memorial tattoo for my mother. It is a really beautiful piece, my artist has featured it on his profile and it has received nothing but compliments. It is not some bland off-the-wall piece.
I chose that area because I had designed the tattoo before thinking about placement. I had the design and I loved it, it was a perfect tribute to my mum and I wasn’t changing it for anybody. My upper back was already taken. I don’t personally want a chest tattoo. I don’t want anything on my abdomen because I want more children. It would have looked totally wrong wrapped around a leg, and it wouldn’t have fit on my arms. So that left lower back. It looks great there, and I am extremely happy with it. Those who brand all women with tattoos there as ‘tramps’ are very ignorant, and certainly not people I would even be associating with in real life, let alone letting them decide where to place one of the most personal tattoos on my body.
I just said in a recent answer – women are more limited for space than men are. A chest tattoo is a big lifestyle change for a woman because it is always the first thing people will notice about you for the rest of your life, so it is understandable that some don’t want to go there. The abdomen is not good for anybody wishing to have children. Many women don’t like to have tattoos on their arms. So that leaves legs and the back – and why should a woman have to miss out a huge gap of that already limited space due to some small minded label?
As far as I’m concerned, tattoos on the breast, chest, hipbone, pantyline, bum, inner thigh, etc. are far more ’sexually suggestive’ than the lower back. That’s not to say I disapprove of those areas – what people do is totally up to them, I’m not one to judge. But as far as I’m concerned, the back is not a sexual area in the slightest, it’s not like I have an arrow pointing down towards my arsecrack. And my opinion is all that counts to me.
The whole stigma is just a fad. By the time the next generation comes around, it will be a different area that is ‘overdone’ and the lower back will be much rarer due to this label, and so somewhere else will be branded the new tramp stamp. These social stigmas go around in cycles. And when all these people who branded people with lower back tattoos as tramps in this day and age, with tattoos elsewhere on their body, find themselves wearing the new ‘tramp stamp’ in a few years time – it will be hilarious. They will see what it feels like to be on the end of small-minded ignorance, whilst knowing within themselves they are anything but a tramp, and they’ll be the ones having to prove themselves to people.
I really find it difficult to understand how these people can justify this discrimination. Particularly when they are tattooed themselves – presumably they **** the discrimination tattooed people receive from some non-tattooed people for the fact they have tattoos at all. But they are absolutely no better. It’s sad but lets hope the girls that have the balls to go and get the tattoo where they actually want it and rise above this discrimination, have the thick skin it requires not to be hurt by the constant bullying received on this topic.
I wonder how many thumbs downs my non-discriminative opinion will win me?

Because those that are getting the tattoo are like the rest of us with tattoos, WE DON’T GIVE A CRAP WHAT PEOPLE SAY!!!! If you want a tattoo, get it and get it where ever you want it. Women and men have been getting tattoos in this particular location for many years. And no the goody-tushoos folks that are swallowed in the now fad frenzied tattoo era are the type of folks that love to throw labels at people. Stop with the labeling of tattoos you lambos. A tattoo on the lower back is just that, a tattoo on the lower back. Next folks will be saying guys with tattoos on there stomachs are thug-stamps. Give labeling a rest all you so called do-gooders that constantly try and point fingers at other people. (i think i did a pretty good job at controlling my sailor-esc language…LOL).
If I have work on the lower part of my back is it still labeled as a tramp stamp? If so then woooohoooo, I am now an old man trampy tattoo artist. I can die peacefully knowing this…..

well, i guess the consensus is that we don’t give a crap what everyone else thinks! people who actually know me, the people i care about, know that im not a tramp. i just love tattoos! and it shouldn’t matter where i put them. my tattoos themselves may give you insight as to who i am but their placement alone doesn’t.

It’s easy to hide when you want to but it’s also easy to show off in a bathing suit or short shirt.
Who cares?

theard of all the name click’s its catchy that’s why some woman and most men call it this that’s why.
