Why do so many young women get those stupid tattoos on their lower back?
LoTR88 asked:
Don’t they know that guys think they are ***** for having them and showing them off? We call them tramp stamps for a reason!
I love this: I don’t care what anybody thinks about my lower-back tattoos. They’re only for me.

If you don’t care what other people think about them, WHY DO YOU SHOW THEM OFF TO EVERYBODY BY WEARING SHIRTS THAT LEAVE YOUR LOWER-BACK EXPOSED??? And if they’re only for you, WHY WOULD YOU GET THEM ON YOUR LOWER-BACK, WHERE YOU CAN’T ACTUALLY SEE THEM FOR YOURSELF???
Just admit what we already know: Women who get them are simply waving a (permanent) banner that says: LOOK AT ME! GIVE ME ATTENTION! STARE AT MY BACKSIDE! BUY ME DRINKS! GET ME DRUNK! IM EASY!

Another example of the dominant male patriarchy.
Some women are tramps, as you call them, because they feel they need to use their sexuality to gain favor in the world. Money, status, power, whatever. They think they’re working the system, but they’re exploiting themselves. But some women just like the look and don’t feel it’s an exploitation until you call it a tramp stamp.
Women should be able to express themselves through body art without being labeled negatively by sexist males with only one thing on their minds. And what if they DO like ***? Why should a woman be called a tramp if she likes ***? If a man likes sex, he’s a stud, but if a woman likes it, she’s a s lut?
Double standard!
Sexist double standard!

Speak for yourself, not all men.

Its my body, I can do whatever I want to it. You’re just jealous cause you can’t get one to sleep with you.

Thanks so much for the insult!! I have one of these tattoos and mine has significance to it. I got it after my best friend died and it has his initials in it. I put it there because it was a spot on my body that I knew I could cover up if I didnt want anyone to see it. Some girls that get them there, yes, they may get them there just to show them off, but not all. Its a stereotype.

I don’t know. I find it completely unattractive.
December 7th, 2009 at 3:57 am
Call it what you will…I think tattoos are hott!
December 10th, 2009 at 3:27 pm
tramp stamp i love it. i will say this one thing so much for origanality huh?all though i agree big time
December 11th, 2009 at 2:08 am
i have one there, and it’s the one i think i regret the most. but it also represents a time that i was a different person. it’s kind of cool to see the progression of my tattoos from their design to their placement on my body. hopefully other young women will experience the same positive reaction after getting a tramp stamp

Why do so many young men get barbed wire or tribal arm band tattoos?
Because it’s TRENDY.
And why do so many people ask this question, anyway?
I have a tattoo on my lower back.
In fact, I have 15 tattoos. And that doesn’t make me a ****.
If a guy doesn’t like it, he can come say it to my face.
kthxbye.
December 15th, 2009 at 2:48 am
I call them The ink above the stink. And why and how does that make them look like *****? Just another example of the double standard, girls who like *** get the negative names, yet the guys get swinging batchelor? I think it’s time for all the negative people to open their eyes, and quit labeling people because they don’t like what they see.
December 15th, 2009 at 11:22 pm
oh yes, i dislike tramp stamps too. i prefer simple and decent ones.
if a girl like this walk up to me and say ‘hi’, i will puke right infront of her.
December 16th, 2009 at 2:45 pm
having a tattoo doesn’t make someone a ****. it’s your opinion and i think you should keep it to yourselves.
and for your information, i don’t even have a tattoo yet.
you’re just rude, man.
December 16th, 2009 at 10:51 pm
I have a tattoo on my lower back. And I am not a tramp. I am a married woman and have never been a slut/tramp in my life. A lot of women get them because they are cute, and easy to hide. And FYI not all men think women are ***** for having a tattoo there. That is a VERY broad generalization.

They are, in the words of my best male friend, the hit it from the back tattoos. I actually have a tattoo on my lower back and it is because that is the only place you don’t see in the workplace. Employers don’t like to see them on your arms and legs so why not place them other places?
December 18th, 2009 at 4:02 pm
Because they made a huge decision to get a tattoo. People should respect that. You call it a tramp stamp because that particular area got very popular ( or you are a jerk who can’t get any girl to go out with you because you call them tramps). My wife got a tat there a long time ago,way before it was a fad, and she is no where near a tramp.
I happen to think that tattoos are extremely **** on any woman. Anywhere they put them.
Man, I sure wish the thumbs down feature was still available.
December 20th, 2009 at 11:34 pm
But it’s the only place I have left to put a tattoo! A lot of men find them ****.
December 21st, 2009 at 9:09 pm
It’s her body and she can decorate it any way she wants to.
December 24th, 2009 at 1:31 am
I’ll never understand it myself. In my opinion, it just looks trashy. But then, some women like to look naughty.
December 24th, 2009 at 7:24 am
Esweet pea you got it!! I have 4 tattoos one of them is on my lower back and I did not get it to follow any fad I loved the art and wanted it tattooed on me all of my tattoos have special meaning to me.. just because I have a tattoo on my low back does not make me a tramp I am not a tramp and very few people actually see my tattoo pretty much only my fiance and he LOVES it he thinks it is VERY **** but that is not why I got it I got it for ME!! anyways tattoos are hot on everyone no matter where they are!
December 24th, 2009 at 12:16 pm
While its not my favorite tattoo location, I don’t think the tattoo is what makes the girl a tramp, its her tramp behavior and piss-poor attitude that will do that.
Speaking of **** poor attitudes, I’ve seen some of your answers, you really should find something better to do with your time and get your head outta your a*s for lack of a better analogy. Not everyone gets Hep C from tattoos, in fact, that’s VERY RARE. And as far as the woman who wanted to get a tattoo for celebration of her daughter’s birth…she can get a tattoo and still be a good mother. Stop being so damn judgmental and knock it off with the double standard sh*t
December 24th, 2009 at 5:52 pm
frankly girls don’t care what guys who don’t even know them think or say about them. if you are going to judge someone’s character by the ink they display then that girl probably doesn’t want to get to know you.
it’s sad that there are so many judgemental people out there but oh well. i am working on a full back tattoo which includes being on my lower back. i am proud of my tattoo and feel sorry for you and your closed mindedness.
by the way… i never wear shirts that show my back or stomach. most of my shirts come 5-6 inches below my waist line.
December 26th, 2009 at 7:09 pm
So? Your point is? Many women like tattoos and they can do whatever they please [not being mean or rude or trying to insult ur question] lol, but not most guys think girls with tattoos are *****. In some countries, getting a tattoo is for protection and many other reasons.YOU may think they are sluts, but that’s only you.
December 27th, 2009 at 12:46 pm
well, im a guy i have one on my lower back too!
its chinese for my wifes name i got it done 16 years ago!
So hey! maybe I started the tramp stamp
It can look very **** I think. Long may the low rise hipster jeans crop tops continue! (but only on HOT girls, hounds keep covered, in fact stay indoors!!!)
December 29th, 2009 at 8:14 am
you’re f u c k i n retarded…i have a tattoo on my lower back and i’m not a tramp, nor have i ever been, nor will i ever be..i don’t wear tiny little shirts that show it off, most people don’t even know i have it. tattoos are a form of art wether they be on your lower back or on your leg or chest or wherever the person puts them..most people put them in places where they can be easily covered up for work purposes, such as the lower back.
December 30th, 2009 at 10:39 pm
u have issues….chill.
if u don’t want to date a girl with a back tattoo then don’t…plain and simple.
it’s almost funny reading how worked up people get over girls having a lower back tattoo…or a tattoo in general. Who cares? I’m very surprised that the subject of to get a tattoo on the lower back or not to get a tattoo on the lower back gets as many questions as it does on YA.
My suggestion: find another less cliche topic to spout off about
January 3rd, 2010 at 4:29 am
Oh, probably to annoy ignorant people like you. And also, I think it is because of ignorant people like you that made everyone think that that is what the lower back tat is. Get over yourself, stop worrying about what other people are doing to their bodies and if you don’t like tats on a woman, don’t date a woman with tats, but quit spreading this **** about it being the mark of a ****.
January 6th, 2010 at 1:02 am
Well i don’t show mine, only to a select few. And if you don’t like them, that’s your opinion. I’ve often wondered why there are so many loud mouthed s.o.b’s out there, but still have yet to find the answer.
And yep i’m a ****…but guess what dude, i’m not YOUR ****. I think THAT is the real question here. You’re just a lonely person who can’t think of an intelligent thing to say, so you pick on women.
